On Wednesday we received an email from the Director of the Blue Ribbon Schools Program of the U.S. Department of Education that stated that Holy Ghost Catholic School was selected to receive a "2009 Blue Ribbon School Award" by the United States Department of Education!
Only 51 private schools in the nation were selected for this most prestigious award. This means that our 8th graders scores in reading and math on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills are in the top 10% in the nation! U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will make the official announcement of the 2009 Blue Ribbon Schools next September. After the announcement we can advertise our school as a Blue Ribbon School. The award ceremony will take place in Washington D.C. November 2-3. Congratulations to all students and staff of Holy Ghost for your achievements.
